All About Justine Yoga Brighton

I have been teaching for over 20 years and working in Brighton and Hove as a Yoga teacher since 2015. I teach a variety of styles including Vinyasa Flow, Yin and Restorative practices. I really enjoy building up a sequence and finding the joy in a flow. I believe that the breath leads every practice and so will always incorporate a range of Mindfulness Meditation within each class. I teach with energy and enthusiasm; years ago, my mentor said that we should strive to teach every lesson as though it was our last and I have used this as my mantra throughout life.

What to expect when joining a practice with me:

​

I teach an embodied practice where the focus is on the sensation experienced rather than creating the ‘perfect pose’. There is is no perfect in yoga. By letting go of the need to create a shape, we can then focus on finding the connection between mind and body. 

​

I work in monthly sequences which means that you can take your time to understand the theme or focus; the first time with the sequence is an introduction and uses the thinking mind. Once you become more familiar with the sequence, the meditative mind can take over. Classes can be found in studios and online. In addition, you can purchase 20 minute recordings that link to a flow; either to break the poses down for someone new to the practice, or as a top up to the practice for those who would like a little more challenge.  Every month, I also offer an extended practice in studio and live streamed online to delve a little deeper into the practice.

Meet Justine Yoga Brighton

Just breathe

There was an element to yoga whilst I studied at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama but did not start to focus my life around yoga until I was completely floored by Chronic Fatigue. My life crashed, and it was only through yoga that I managed to get my life back again, each day noticing my physical and mental strength returning. I realised that I wanted to use my teaching experience to share the world of yoga with others. 

​

Whilst I teach a few different styles in studios around Brighton and Hove, embodiment is at the heart of each practice. Rather than focusing on the aesthetic or trying to achieve perfection, I invite you to explore the sensation within the shape and maintain awareness on the breath.

​

As well as teaching yoga in studios, I also teach young people with emotional and eating disorders at a local hospital.
